4 Short Films That I Love
When someone says Short Films to me, I immediately think of the wonderful Bertie Gilbert. So when I got given the task by my film teacher to either find an article on short films and blog about it or blog about an example of a short film, I obviously chose the latter.
Here are two trailers for my favourite short film's by Bertie Gilbert.
Firstly, LET IT BE (2016):
Speaking of real parts of life, another short film that you might be aware of, as it recently won an Oscar, is The Silent Child (2017), written by Rachel Shenton and directed by Chris Overton, which is a story about the life of a young deaf girl. I thought this short film was simply brilliant and extremely powerful; I highly recommend it.

And Secondly, PLAYGROUND (2017):
You can find both of these short films in all their glory here on Bertie's YouTube Channel. (and so you're aware, I do believe there is some swearing, at least it LET IT BE.)
I love both these films for all sorts of reasons. For one, the music in these two films is, in my opinion, amazing (shout out to Tom Rosenthal and Tom Barnes). I also really like how these imaginative concepts are used to portray and discuss real and deep parts of life.

Lastly for this list, I thought I'd choose a very short film (compared to my previous choices) as it's closer in length to what I may be making if I choose to make a film (rather than write a screenplay). This short film is an animation, of about four minutes in length, that tells a really cute little story about a school boy crush. Here, I'll let it speak for itself - In a Heartbeat (2017) by Beth David and Esteban Bravo:
So, that was my list of 4 short films that I love.
This was probably a bit more than I was asked to do, but it's put me in the mood for short films, and I'm looking forward to looking at the ones on our research list in class - and then of course writing about them here 😅😁

This is excellent Eve. I look forward to having a proper look at the films you have chosen here. Your style of writing is very engaging - well done :)
